Supermodel Naomi Campbell was born in the month of May in the year 1970. At 38 years of age, she is one of the leading models in the industry and one of the most readily recognized. In addition to her modeling career, Naomi Campbell seems to be successful in every endeavor she touches: she is a well known actress, model, fashion designer, and she has also launched a successful singing career as well.
Naomi Campbell is a native of Streatham in London, England. She is the daughter of Valerie Morris Campbell, and this supermodel has no knowledge of her birth father. When Naomi Campbell reached the tender age of ten, she began her indepth studies at the Italia Conti Academy where she studied dance, particularly ballet. She later went on to attend the Dunraven School in London. As early as the age of seven, this tremendously popular supermodel was appearing in music videos, and when she turned fifteen, Beth Boldt, from the Synchro Model Agency, discovered Naomi in Covenant Garden. Shortly thereafter, Naomi Campbell got her chance and was contracted by the Elite Model Management company. She has since modeled for Lee Jeans, Ralph Lauren, Elle Magazine, Vogue, Time, Playboy, and has starred in music videos with George Michael, Michael Jackson, and P. Diddy, among other musical artists.
Currently, Naomi Campbell is contracted to three different modeling agencies. As far as Naomi Campbell’s music career is concerned, her first album entitled Baby Woman followed her work on other albums made by Quincy Jones and Vanilla Ice. Her first album proved particularly successful in the country of Japan where it sold more than one million copies. In the mid 1990s, Naomi Campbell hired a ghost writer to write the novel Swan, and released it under her own name. In the late 1990s, Naomi Campbell turned her attentions to the fashion world once more, and delved into the world of design. She promptly started her own design company aptly called the Design House of Naomi Campbell, and she has concentrated on creating a variety of fragrances which have proven successful. While Naomi Campbell certainly has positive attributes and has committed time to a number of positive charitable causes, she has also had a few run ins with the law. Naomi Campbell has been arrested for assault in 2000, and she has been involved in several legal cases where she has been accused of both verbal and physical abuse.
